About the Association

Mission Statement

The mission of MESSA is to enhance the educational experience of EVSS students through social, volunteer, and professional-development events; to serve students in need of support; and to promote environmental awareness on the College of Charleston campus and local community.

The Master of Science in Environmental and Sustainability Studies Student Association (MESSA) is a graduate student organization of the College of Charleston.

Membership in MESSA is open to all College of Charleston students enrolled in the Master of Environmental and Sustainability Studies EVSS program, EVSS alumni, faculty, associates of the EVSS program who are not faculty, as well as any other interested student, graduate or undergraduate in the purpose of this organization.

MESSA holds informal meetings on a monthly basis, which are open to all environmental studies students and faculty, as well as individuals interested in the activities of the program or the organization. Check out the MESSA Facebook page for the date and location of the next meeting.
